Difficulties in Visualisations

Who is The Completion Process (not yet) suitable for?
Generally speaking, this method is for anyone who feels called to it—anyone struggling with aspects of life who truly wants to create a better one.
However, I have met a handful of people who didn't immediately benefit from The Completion Process. I have a strong suspicion as to why that is, but first, a little background on imagination.
The Power of the Mind's Eye
The Completion Process relies on your mental-emotional imagination. By this, I mean your ability to travel anywhere in your mind: your past, your future, your fantasies, a specific place in your body, your dreams, or even your nightmares.
Wherever you travel in your imagination, you experience those images as "real" for a moment—mentally, emotionally, and physically. Depending on the images you hold, your body creates calming hormones, adrenaline, or other physical reactions.
Think about biting into a lemon… your mouth almost instantly starts to water. Perhaps you don't even like lemons, so you feel a sense of dislike or disgust (emotion). Suddenly, you might remember that one time you tasted something with far too much lemon juice (mental). All of that happened simply because you thought of a lemon!
Imagination in The Completion Process
The Completion Process uses this imaginative capacity in a way often called "active imagination." This means you don't just let images happen to you (like a random memory), but you actually interact with them. You engage with your imagination by asking questions and allowing images to arise as answers.
For example, as part of the process, you create a Safe Haven. This is usually an imagined place that grows during a guided visualisation. It’s a place where you feel safe and free. When you are there in your mind, you truly experience it. Your body enters a state of deep rest and relaxation; you are focused, while playfulness and curiosity inspire you to look around, create, and explore.
The Hurdle – Is your imagination "broken"?
For some people, imagining things doesn't work the way they'd like. It can feel as though only painful or harsh things are "allowed" to be created. Or perhaps the mind can only repeat "reality" exactly as it was remembered. For others, it feels "fake" to imagine something, or they find themselves dissociating when they try.
When the imaginative capacity is locked away, people often feel no emotional connection to what they are picturing, or no spontaneous new images arise.
Does this sound familiar? In most cases, your imagination isn't broken—it’s just been tucked away for safety.
The Solution – Exploring the "Anti-Parts"
If visualising feels impossible, but you still want to improve your life through The Completion Process, we first need to look at the parts of you that are resisting. In practice, this means we start with Parts Work and Voice Dialogue
There may be parts of you so convinced that things cannot or must not get better that you simply can't bypass them. Perhaps there are parts clinging to a painful inner state out of unconscious loyalty to parents who suffered similarly. Others might hold onto pain as evidence of the suffering they endured, as a reason not to have to change, or even as a badge of inner strength ("Look at what I can survive!"). Some parts might fear that being happy will provoke jealousy in others, or they are convinced they simply don't deserve what they desire.
These "anti-parts" are very common! They don't just show up in imagination; they play a role in your relationships, your career happiness, your hobbies, and your addictions. These parts aren't "bad" or "stupid"—they have a very good reason for existing. Until their intent is understood, they will remain unyielding and hold you back.
A Final Tip
If you find that visualising isn't working or isn't yielding results—or if you feel "stuck" in a certain image—I recommend first exploring which inner parts are working against you.
I can help you with this, and I truly love doing so. Your intuition and inspiration speak to you through images and feelings. It is truly magical to witness someone finally breaking free from these inner limitations.
